This is a blank page
And these are empty words
As this paper fades
The thoughts will blur
And all that will be left
Is carefully positioned memories

Can you feel that?
The tightening in your chest
As you look to the right
Then glance to the left

Salvation and damnation side by side
The ecstasy and bliss, that come along with
Panic and despair
You can try to run or try to hide
But remember in love and war
All is fair

Acceptance and denial
Putting the innocent on trial
The guilty got away
Now see what it portrays
Reluctant to defile
The only thing left in this world worth while
Showing humanity it's face
Laying down the final brick of disgrace

Your smoke fills the air
Floors covered in black sleet
They wander along
With blood on their feet

Systems will fail
And my mind will go
But if I scream these thoughts loud enough
Maybe good will prevail
And maybe evil will grow
But something must change
Evolution set sail
